Disaster Risk Management Programme

 

                Government of India and United Nations Development Programme signed an agreement on August 2002 for Implementation of the Disaster Risk Management Programme to reduce vulnerability of the Communities to Natural disaster in multi-hazard disaster prone areas. The Revenue department is the Nodal department for the DRM programme in Assam.

               The Disaster Risk Management Programme in Dhemaji was officially launched in Dhemaji on 12th February 2004 by Sri M. K. Baruah, Revenue Commissioner, Govt. of Assam at DRDA training Hall. The field activities of DRM Programme at Dhemaji started from 13th of February, 2004 with the Hazard Mapping of Samarajan Gaon Panchayat done by the Volunteers
